Concert Overview
This concert features works by Camille Saint-Saëns and Franz Liszt, musical contemporaries who had a shared admiration of each other’s work. While sharing some musical similarities, Saint-Saëns’s music often possesses a more classical quality compared to Liszt’s more emotionally descriptive style. Our soloist will play two pieces by Saint- Saëns, both of which showcase the horn’s lyrical and expressive capabilities. The program offers a combination of shared musical heritage, stylistic contrasts, and engaging repertoire that will appeal to a wide range of listeners.

Our soloist for today’s concert on the horn is Brian Donohue. Brian is one of LCO’s regular horn players.
