Renowned piano soloist Leslie Kinton PhD, Professor of music performance at the Don Wright School of Music, University of Western Ontario returns to continue our Beethoven piano concerto cycle. This is the fourth time since 2018 that Dr. Kinton has joined us for a Beethoven piano concerto and we are delighted to play with him again. He played the following Beethoven Piano Concertos with us – #4 in 2018, #3 in 2019, #5 in 2022.

Concert Overview:
Our last concert of the season offers a progression of styles within German music. You will hear the brilliance of a young Ludwig van Beethoven and the mature, emotionally charged world of Richard Wagner. Beethoven’s Piano Concerto is a triumphal blend of youthful energy, classical elegance and the composer’s virtuosic command of the piano showcased through our soloist. Wagner’s Tristan and Isolde is a dramatic and expressive portrayal of a story of doomed love. Our first work shows the emerging genius of Beethoven and while Wagner built upon the trends created by Beethoven he created his own unique musical expression.
